I have a theory,

Maybe the reason that his paramedics tried to eat him is because it's a tradition/normal thing to do because why would his paramedics just try to cook/eat him? Because it's normal.

Proof: Wally clearly is a father to his son and his son is not adopted, but who gave birth to his son? His wife. But, we never see,hear about or even know about his wife. The only logical answers would be that she left him or she died. As we see, there aren't any reasons for her to leave him at all. So that leaves us with one thing, she died. But how? As we know, Wally is a very protective father, so he wouldn't just let his wife die like that and she would've protected herself. Unless, ...............
