Calix Animi is a phrase seen on an emblem during the Rugged Ridge level of Inkwell Isle Three.

Context

The emblem this phrase is written on appears twice on the walls of the castle ruins during the latter part of Rugged Ridge. On the pathway that leads to such ruins, there are statues of ancient flatware warriors such as the Legendary Chalice and other unnamed figures shaped like cups, teapots, saucers, plates, forks and spoons.

Possible meaning

The phrase Calix Animi can be translated from Latin as "cup of the soul", or "souled cup". This may allude to the fact that Cuphead's and Mugman's — and, presumably, also Ms. Chalice's — heads are filled with the essence of their souls.
